BullDog - You have my prayers and concern too. So sorry you've had to go through this pain and misery. You'll be so relieved to have it over with. Thanks for letting us know what's happening.

Still haven't passed them, but I'm not in any pain. No pain killers today either or last night, just a muscle relaxer last night. I'm determined to drink a gallon of water before supper. I actually ate a decent meal today. Yesterday all I could manage was 2 slices of bread and a pop tart. So, I am improving.

I'm just frustrated by how slow this is going. I have till wednesday. That's when I see the urologoist

BullDog - Glad to know you aren't in a lot of pain.
I thought I read about stones being broken up by laser? Maybe that isn't always possible or advisable. Sorry you haven't passed them yet.

yeah, but that procedure involves a catheter which i have no interest in.
I've got only a couple of things that make me really edgy....stuff near my eyes and things that don't belong near my junk. LOL

As a last choice. There is the sonic route, but they didn't get into the procedure while I was there. I think it's still there though. Or at least one of them still is. Some can dissolve.

I thought I passed one last night but never saw it. The only reason why I think i still have it is because my urine is still pretty scary looking. Like before I got sober scary. They said it was normal to pass blood.

I'm not in pain anymore though. So...i'm just chugging water and praying that the pain stays away. My urologist appt is wed.

Okay, as long as you're not in pain sounds like a good plan.

Hope all goes well on Wednesday.

My dad had them and he drastically reduced the amount of salt in his diet and they resolved themselves.

BullDog,

I just wanted to let you know that if you are offered the laser surgery, don't turn it down just because of the catheter. I've had 2 open heart surgeries that required me having a catheter. Once it went in after I was already out and once while still awake but sedated. Both times they came out while I was fully awake and alert. There's a good chance they would put you out and insert the catheter right before they start the procedure and you'll never even remember it.

I can honestly tell you that at the very worst it was slightly uncomfortable/awkward going in but basically painless, and painless coming out. The one time I was awake when it was inserted a male OR tech did it (wasn't awake the other time). Coming out they left the sheet over me while I was laying in bed and the feeling was relief...not pain.

I know this is kind of a sensitive topic to be discussing on a recovery board, but I'd hate for you to pass on a procedure that could solve your current issue due to an understandable, but IMO unwarranted fear.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Good luck passing them.
