Male with Water filled legs and abit in arms
I had to take my wife to the emergency room when she had excessive fluid build up in her legs. They ended up hooking her up to numerous I.V.s and administering lasik( a powerful diuretic) to drain her fluids. It worked. She has a weakened heart so do not hesitate to find another doctor and get another opinion. You are not just a "drunk" you are a valuable human being whose life is worth saving. Don't give up and continue on the sober path.

im home now, i rang the non emergancy number we have in the uk, they rang an ambulance and i expected it to take ages like they normally do but they had the lights ans sirens on, it was that point i started to get very scared anyway, i have a weakened heart, just like stellas wife they hooked me up to a drip, diuretics, and most horrifying was the dam catheter, it hurt going but omg it was horrendous when it came out, ive lost 8 pounds that i guess was water, thanks guys, you saved me, the consultant is contacting my doctors to tell them of their potentially life threatening error.
i feel so much better now, ive been told ill be taking heart medication for life, i asked was it caused by the alcohol but the consultant said it wasnt, my mother says 3 men in my family all died of heart problems so thats abit scary

That's great to hear you did the right thing to get to the bottom of your pretty serious issue! It's often like that in the US as well where docs are often times lazy and just want to get you in and kick you out with some pills without even caring.
I know i've had to be proactive a few times to demand tests and what not to be done. Though this forum frowns on medical suggestions for some reason, it often times can be very beneficial, as it seems to be in this case.
Hopefully you can find yourself a competent doc or cardiologist that knows what they are doing to continue your treatment.

I am so glad that you rang the emergency number. Thank God!
The consultant really needs to give those doctors a reaming.
So glad that you are home and doing better.
Stay close.
So glad that you didn't drink, DODO, and really glad that you are physically a lot better.
Quite often, a solid plan for sobriety and recovery is extremely beneficial.
Do you have a plan?
I'll post a couple of links in a moment
