Day 3

Day 3 .. still struggling. Just need to hear this gets better.

Purplrks3647 07-01-2017 01:16 PM

It does get better! And I'm not just saying that. Have you visited the 24 hour thread, or the weekender thread? That's where we keep in touch with others struggling; there's great support there. (Both are in the newcomers forum)

Yes, it most definitely gets better, DD931. Try thinking of day 3 as one step closer to your goal. This seemed to help me get through the days a little easier.

Are you drinking lots of liquids, have you eaten?

Maudcat 07-01-2017 01:22 PM

It does, but it takes time.
Try to get some fresh air, drink lots of water, and eat when you are hungry.
Deep breaths when cravings hit. They will pass.

I have eaten lots and hydrated so much lots of electrolytes ..My brain keeps telling me it won't get better ... The anxiety is high, is this all in my head?

Mattq2 07-01-2017 01:31 PM

It gets so much better. Maud cat is right. when it gets really bad a good meal did wonders. Three days is a really big deal. It was the hardest for me, in a week or two you will feel so much better. Stay with it. We are here for you>

It gets sooooo much better. Day 3 was the hardest of the first week for me. It gave me confidence on the next hard days that I could do it. Hold strong and you'll be rewarded greatly. Good luck

It has gotten so much better.

Everything is 10 times easier.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome DD :)
Yeah it gets better - none of us would be here on this site if it didn't.

The first few weeks can be rough - but you're not alone here :)

DD- As everyone has said, it truly gets better and much easier! The beginning stages are difficult but well worth going through in order to get to the other side.

Those thoughts of feeling that nothing will change and it won't get better are coming from your AV (addictive voice). Don't listen to IT...IT is a liar! Stay close to SR and post whenever you begin to feel weak. We're all here for ya!

Hang in there...stay strong...you're going to be so glad that you did!

Day 3 is rough...and look at you! High five! You never have to do day 1 and 2 again!
Seriously, yes, it will take awhile. And yes, it does get easier!

One good thing about all your new friends on SR is that somebody's always online to listen and cheer you on. :grouphug: Welcome! Congrats on your new career.

DD931 07-01-2017 07:46 PM

Thank you :) It is nice to hear some kind words right now!
I feel like SUCH a disappointment.
But you can only go up from rock bottom.
Working on my plan for recovery and hope to be a part of this community as I have read how many people it has saved. I WILL be one of those people too, life is too damn precious to throw away!

It gets so much better, DD931.

There is a great SR thread on this point that I will link for you in a minute.
