The crazy things my AV suggests
So I've been sober for a bit now, after a very long time narrowly avoiding disaster and frankly, death.
I just wanted to say that I still work every single day on keeping my sobriety. I have to, or my AV tells me to get a bottle of vodka "just in case"(in what case would that be a good idea?!) Or, recently, to steal what I think are bottles of booze my neighbor keeps on his back porch. I am not a thief, but sometimes these thoughts creep in and it feels so incredibly exhausting!! So I usually call my sponsor or another AA friend. Or I come on here and feel such immense gratitude that there are people who understand and take the time to write thoughtful things.
Maybe I'm still feeling emotional from relatively new sobriety. But I feel a whole lot of gratitude for all of you. Thank you :-)

By telling on your disease you're doing the right thing. I've had lots of crazy thoughts: the ones I don't talk about seem to expand to an uncomfortable place. Thank God for the folks in the rooms who completely understand.
