Please stay on the Sober Bus -- pt.4
Certainly Purplrks, coffee is allowed as long as you bring your driver a cup. ;^>
Good morning everyone, hope you slept well, the sober bus is ready for all passengers. Let's get rolling!
Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba
Winnipeg Beach is one of my favorite places, I'm often there in the summer time.
Anishinaabe Totem Pole.
This is the 67th carving in a long trail of Whispering Giants that started in 1970 and now reaches throughout most of North America. In creator Peter "Wolf" Toth's Words, "My monuments are made to remind people of the contributions of the Indians of this country - statues to honor the plight of the native peoples of North America"

Hey gang! Next stop--San Francisco Bay Area to pick me up. Can we please go somewhere warm. It's 31 May and I'm still wearing my winter wardrobe!
Welcome Therpy, the Sober Bus is a great place to be.
STD, loved the statue of the Indian. When I was a teenager/young adult I went through a time when I read all I could get my hands on about Indians in North America--non-fiction, novels based on real events, and regular fantasy-based novels.

Wow, Lombard Street in the San Francisco Bay Area, I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it from the sober bus!

Morning Shitzupuppy, Awake61 & Purplrks3647.
'bus-keteers' lol. Love the 'Who wants coffee' meme.
OK, now that my blood / caffeine levels are peaking, lets get this bus on road. Calling all sober riders, give us a shout and we'll come pick you up.
The Big Chair
I drive past this one often on my way to and from Winnipeg Beach. It sits in a farmers field right by Highway #8 just north of Highway #67. You can often see people taking photos of each other in the chair. One of these days, I'm going to stop and have my picture taken on the big chair. This road side monument inspired the children's book "The Chair by the Side of the Road".

It's hard to tell perspective, but the average person would need a boost to get up there.

STD, it's been years since I've been to Lombard Street. I'm pretty sure that's the name of it.
Interesting how many of us live near places and destinations that tourists pay big bucks to go see and yet (at least I do) we take those sites for granted. I used to live near the Washington Monument in D.C.--went there once; I see the Golden Gate Bridge often yet haven't gone to it in years; haven't been to China Town in S.F. since the 70's.
Oh my, one of these days I want to play tourist in my own back yard, so to speak. Not too long of a ride from here are the extremely tall and very old Redwoods. There is one that is carved out at the bottom in which you drive your car through it. That was fun.
I better stop gabbing and take my seat.

You make a good point Ringo, there are plenty tourist destinations near me that I have not been to in decades but just take for granted eg the Tower of London which is only a 20-25 minute walk from where I live. They somehow seem less of an attraction by being on the doorstep so to speak.
I hope everyone is having a good day.
