Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi. I have been so busy, working, spending time with family, going to at least a meeting a day, trying to do service work, helping others online, working with my sponsor (getting through 4th step) and dealing with some personal issues that I have been putting off when I was drinking. I just wanted to say hi and will use this thread to check in periodically. I also wanted to thank everyone for being there for me during my first weeks getting sober again. I think my average was around 15 posts a day. It has went way down but I do not want to get complacent so I will try to come on here at least once or twice a day and see if my experience can help a newcomer. Hope everyone is doing well.. My life has changed so much since I gave up the booze for good 43 days ago. I can only imagine how great it will get in the future and even if it doesn't at least I know now that drinking will only make whatever problem there is worse. Take care :)

Great idea Steve. I spent a whole bunch of time here early on too - i don't think that's a bad thing at all. Glad to hear things are going well and please do check in whenever you can.

Sounds good - it helps to be busy.

I am at 203 days sober and I am so busy their are not enough hours in the day.

Back in my drinking days I didn't do anything but work, sleep, eat and drink alcohol. Most of the time I was too drunk or too hungover to do anything worthwhile.

Yeah i was on it. 14 hr day. Had to hold fake beer again. My hp has a good sense of humor :)

Yes, I remember you said you had to hold a beer again...I didn't realize that was the actual taping...thought it was your audition. Gotcha!

Yeah background actors dont really have to audition. Just send in photos and if they pick you show up and do as told. Its a fun hobby and you make a lil $ :)

Definitively is.. went to a noon meeting today. Going up to Washington this thur-sun so looking at meetings in the neighborhood :)

Ahhh...I didn't know that. Interesting! Anyhoo...glad you're doing well!

The other day I was going to the store and I asked my wife (who still is an active alcoholic that drinks everyday) if she wanted anything from the store.

She had already been drinking all day and asked me to buy her a big can of beer. At the store I found the cheapest I could find; a 24 oz. can of Genesse for 99 cents. I figured she would complain and/or maybe not drink it but she said nothing and polished it off.

Talk about fake beer!!

Is that non alcoholic beer? :)
