Thanks for sharing Steve! I had several experiences similar to what you describe while taking the steps. I think it was my HP's way of encouraging me to keep moving forward. I'm guessing that the promises mentioned in the BB for each step are based on experiences similar to ours that the early members had as well.

Thanks SteveAlex. I have no doubt that you had a spiritual experience. The sense that time had stopped is ineffable. I hope that it is a comfort to know that others here have had these sorts of experiences also.

Be well.

Congrats brotha!!! I had a similar feeling and I have not even had one iota of a desire to drink since. keep working the steps and you never have to drink again to have a happy fulfilled life.

Congratulations Steve, that's awesome. I had a spiritual experience as a child (after my grandmother's loss) and then again, when I decided to stop drinking forever, no ifs or buts, drinking was off the table for the rest of my life.

The spiritual experience I felt when I stated my Big Plan (I will never drink again and I will never change my mind) was uplifting, relieving, sobbing, cushioning, comforting, time and the world standing stilling....it's hard to describe, but at that point in time I KNEW dep down in my soul and very being, that drinking was forever in my past, and that I'd regained my freedom, after so many horrendous years of addiction. I'm really glad for you, too, Steve.

It sounds like your sponsor is a good person, with the flair for theatrics. I see the point- and so long as you found it to be productive, then great!
I am happy for you. A good read. Thanks.
