The last few months of grad school are a death march. Just assume you're emotionally, mentally, and physically fried and try to shelve those thoughts about the past for a time when you have more clarity?
I didn't go to any of my graduations and didn't feel like I missed anything but I'm a true introvert, so the thought of teeming masses was not at all appealing.
It would annoy me as well if my mother tried to co-opt my grueling hard work to enhance her status. Since she didn't discuss this with you, I see zero reason why you should feel like you have to show up. Let her explain it to those she invited.
Above all, take a mental victory lap or six, yes? Two years sober AND law school? You are a rock star.
Congratulations!!!?
