What the heck is a phone meeting?

I'm intrigued by this, I never noticed it before on a meeting list, I just looked at one for a neighboring county. It gives a phone number and then an access code.

Has anyone done an AA meeting by phone before? What does it do? Is it just a recording? Do you have to call it at the scheduled time (12 noon in this case)?

Local groups don't generally have telephone meetings. I think it refers to online meetings, where you call a number and are connected with other alcoholics.

It's a phone meeting. A phone number you dial and then a code to direct you to the right meeting.

A conference call probably, where many people are involved and communicate at once. You talk in real time without having to go anywhere to meet them.

As Aellyce said I bet it's a con call..

I've never heard or been on one but it sounds pretty cool!! Send us the bridge info and we'll all join! :)
