Itchy Hands Anyone? Day 5

I know it seems I have a million questions but my hands are itching this morning and lotion is not helping. Has anyone else experienced this after quitting ?

I had increased ichiness. Mine wasn't very bad though. I've read about others who seemed to have ichiness as a prime, and extremely annoying symptom of withdrawal. I don't know your backstory or whether you saw a doc for withdrawals but they could obviously give you answers if it really concerns you.

Just about anything is possible during withdrawals/recovery. Some people have mentioned itchy skin before, but there's really no way of telling you if it's related to your withdrawals or not via the internet, you'd need to see a doctor for that. Could be withdrawal related, maybe dehydration, some kind of rash, allergies, even anxiety induced.

Thank you both for answering. I'm not sure what the cause was. It's eased up considerably now, but the almost extreme itchiness went on for a couple of hours this morning. I'm not sure what to make of it. But if it returns and continues, I'll definitely see my doctor. I appreciate the input.

High bilirubin levels maybe?. That should start going away soon if that's what might be causing it. Trip to the doc for labs maybe? If you just stopped drinking give it a few weeks to settle down then see the doc.
Also like everyone says, our nervous system kicking back in too.
Could be anything right now.
Congrats on quitting!

Thank you both! I appreciate it. If the itchy hands start again and it's due to quitting, then let them itch till the cows some home as long as I never wake up with another hangover. j/k But, I've gotta say, it's been nice waking up and feeling better!

Waking up hangover-free is the gift of sobriety that keeps on giving. It never, ever gets old

My hands itched a bit early on, too, but the symptoms were very short-lived.

Oh yeah! Once I get through that daily craving, sobriety is the bomb! It's nice to wake up in the morning looking forward to that first cup of coffee without that ugh feeling! I will never go back, God willing! And I think He does. lol

Ok this is strange because I'm experiencing the reverse.

My hands itched a lot when I was drinking.

Day 20 today and they don't itch. In fact, they haven't since I quit.

Now that is crazy! Mine aren't itching now, thankfully. I'm glad to hear yours have quit. That's a head scratcher, though...pun not intended.. ;-)
