Day 1 -Sick

Anyone have any suggestions for the nausea?

SoberLeigh 04-19-2017 11:12 AM

Have you tried a small taste of ginger ale?

If the first taste goes okay, have another small taste, followed by another small tast.

Ginger is supposed to help with nausea.

Stay close. We are here for you, Marissa.

I filled buckets the first couple days after I quit, and drank a lot of Gatorade in the hopes that it would help keep me from getting dehydrated, even though I would soon throw it back up. I'm not sure there's a solution except time, but it does go away pretty quick in my experience.

I guess I pretty much expected this but I want to get sober. I'm just going to have to go through it. Hopefully by Friday this will be much better. Thanks you guys!

Please try to hydrate. Even frequent tiny sips of water work.

So glad you are on Day 1. It is so hard but it is the day that the goodness is allowed to begin.

Stay close.

Choosing day 1 is much better than another day 0.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well marissa, Nausea was a very common problem for me almost every day while I was still drinking and especially the times I actually tried to quit. Small sips of water throughout the day can certainly help, you can always consult with a doc if it gets too bad too, you don't want to get dehydrated. The good news is that it's 100% preventable, so this can be the last time you ever have to feel this way again. I know that doesn't help you feel better physically, but know that you can make change to prevent it from happening again.

Alka Seltzer and Pedialyte for sure. Yep it's in the baby aisle.

perhaps see doc

I use Emetrol, an OTC anti nausea medicine when I am sick. Keep drinking Gatorade or something similar to help get electrolytes back too.

I second the ginger ale, I found it easy on my tummy during the first couple of days and it's since become my sober drink of choice :)

I'm on Day One (again, unfortunately) and I'm struggling with nausea too. Just tried some ginger ale and I've held it down so far.

This will be my LAST Day One!! I'm determined!

How are you feeling today, Marissa?

Thinking of you.

Soberwolf 04-20-2017 09:36 AM

Hope your feeling better x

Was only sick once yesterday. A little tummy ache this morning after coffee. But better now. And I'm drinking water. Taking my vitamins after I eat lunch. Trying to slowly move around and do some cleaning today.

So good to hear that things are a bit better, Marissa.

Take it slow. Be very good to yourself.

You are healing.
