Hello everyone
I ended up going to the hospital in the end I just felt so unwell I knew I had to.
when I got there they said I was very sick from the alcohol and it had destroyed my immune system and I had all kinds of infections so they put me on a drip and I lay in the hospital bed for a few days . I was so scared at first I kept thinking I was going to die for some reason but I slowly recovered until I was well enough to leave and go home .
I'm doing a lot better now, I feel so much healthier and I'm starting to eat again . its still early days and I'm still anxious about a lot of stuff , I'm worried about what people will think of me not drinking , ill miss drinking with people and having fun but I know I cant do it anymore ,
.anyway thank you all so much for asking I think I'm am getting better everyday I don't know what I'd do without this site.

I am SO glad you went to the hospital and got help! Please stick around here for ongoing support. The alcohol counselor is a great idea too. I am so happy for you doing the brave thing and seeking recovery.
I am so happy to see your update (((dg)))
Good for you for going to the hospital and for seeing a counsellor
Stick around SR and do some reading, there is lots of wisdom to be had here.
Your true friends will remain your friends and there is a lot of fun to be had without alcohol.
True story, girl!

Glad to hear you got some help, when we didn't hear from you, had some dark thoughts for a while.
Anyway sounds like you're on the right track.
It's a hard road adjusting to sobriety, you say you'll miss drinking, I think thats true of all of us, but somewhere the fun of drinking has to get trumped by the fact that it's killing us.
As for missing the fun of drinking with people, you do learn that you can still have fun with people without the booze, it just takes time.
Just remember here, and all the other support groups you may join, we're all alcoholics, not someone who just spouts the perceived doctrine they've read in a book at college. We've been through the experience, we understand the struggles, we know it's not easy. But, at least for me, being able to express and read about those struggles, here with people that 'truly' understand is very helpful in the never ending fight to stay sober.

Hi and well done on Easter Day 1 plus all the great work you are doing with the hospital and counselling, great stuff to read you are trying to be healthier in these early days of recovery. I know the panic and anxiety can be really bad at times but I have found this lessen over time as things readjust and learning new ways to relax or sleep better can really help.
Hope things are still going well for you

Very glad to hear that you are seeing an addiction counselor....they can really help. Hope you can get some rest and gain your strength back too.
