1 Attachment(s) Good morning! We are expecting a balmy high of 6 Celsius with overcast skies. Winnipeg's Vaughan Street Jail, built in 1881, no longer serves it's original purpose. In the basement, still exist the solitary confinement cells where prisoners would be chained to the walls for days, unable to lie down. Many executions were held here and the bodies remain in unmarked graves in a local cemetery. Attachment 31821 |

Glad I didn't live in the late 1800's/early 1900's! I may have ended up in Winnipeg's Vaughan Street Jail. Alcoholism and depression were my prison walls. But no more! I am on the Sober Bus. |
