Do you have to use reciepts to remember what you've spent ?

Whilst drunk/etc

I don't as a rule since I have little to spend, but I do forget details of ebay purchases. But sometimes I am drunk/stoned around check day and don't remember the exact money situation.

Twice noew (meow?) I was 1/2 buzzed and overspent on my back account.

That was one thing I don't miss about drinking: discovering a day later what I bought on ebay!!

Best to just stay sober (cheaper, too!).

Sober, I forget what I spend and can never find the receipts. I need to be better organised, but I forget to be.

I have always been careful with money - drunk or sober.

I was drunk everyday for 27 years but my memories were pretty good - sometimes it took days or weeks after something happened to remember it but I still remembered it!!

When I was drinking the parcels (lots of them ) delivered by my postman were always a suprise. And just the idea of checking my bank balance was enough to bring on a full scale panic attack.

Those days have gone now though, which I thank God for today.

The simple solution to that problem is to stop getting effed up. Easier said than done.

Have you considered stopping drinking and getting stoned to see what happens?

I have old credit card statements of my beer purchases at the convenience store up the street. It would be roughly 15-18 dollars a day every day except some days there'd be 2 charges cause I would have gone back for a late-night second helping. What a waste, talk about mind-bottling.

I remember my first full week of sobriety I carried around the same forty or fifty dollars in my pocket. I literally didn't spend a cent in seven days😀

I was always scared to look at my balance - having $20 in there was a joyous thing when I was drinking.

Things are much better now tho

hows it coming with your recovery ww2gamer?

I knew I was in trouble when Chase would be all "Ms. Cooter we noticed unusual activity on your Visa account" ...that made me spin some circles. I really like this awareness I have now. Still on my toes...but man it has been a long time. To actually remember sh!t! What a concept! I LIKE IT!!!!

I order stuff off of Amazon and then have no memory of it. I can't even count how many orders I cancelled.

With this tax return, I had quite a bit of money in my bank account. I started going out and drinking almost every night instead of drinking at home. I looked at my bank account today and I have spent almost $1,000 since I got my refund on alcohol. I'm so disappointed in myself. I'm not buying another box of wine or bottle ever again.
