Forty-Nine. It's 7am and I'm already looking forward to getting to bed sober tonight so I can I have fifty tomorrow!

Feeling a little better today. Maybe (just maybe) the depression is lifting a bit and I can move from this slump...

The benefits are really starting to show now as the depression is lifting and I'm feeling all round more optimistic. It might only be an "up" in the ups and downs but I feel like I'm getting clear of the immediate pressures of addiction and feeling "normal" for the first time in 20 years.

Never going back.

Two days before I had gotten out of the hospital because I withdrew and almost died. The next day I was drunk again.

Even I knew the circus was over.
