I'm on day two and feeling pretty content at the moment. Actually excited for tomorrow, which isn't a statement I've felt in quite a while.
Keep on, Brendachenowyth. Let the magic begin!

I was in that position once and I remember how hopeless I felt back in 1980, surrounded by people who had been sober years on end - those who had already made it. After that experience I continued on being a drunk for another 17 years. BUT THINGS ARE WAY DIFFERENT NOW WITH THE INTERNET AND NOT BEING ISOLATED LIKE I WAS.
With that said, I have been sober for coming up on 20 years. I don't know exactly for sure when, but it was somewhere around the third week in October of 1997 when I unknowingly but successfully quit both alcohol and nicotine on the same day. I didn't note the exact date because I didn't have the intention to quit being a professional drunk in mind when I had my last drink and last smoke. When I finally came to the realization that I was sober, felt okay, and was going to stay that way for the rest of my life, my exact quitting date was lost. But it was somewhere around 7,111 days ago. But any day sober is a good day, and I got sober one day at a time by doing that 7,111 times in a row.
It's kind of you to think of us little people lol silly way to put it, but that is how I feel sometimes.. had almost 200 days then pooped out on March 1st.. Right now I am just trying to make a fresh start. 20 years is amazing. I managed half of one and that felt like a crawl. For now I'm just focusing on the moment.
