There is one that airs locally here, it shows a young woman getting ready to walk down the aisle in her wedding dress and the VO is like "Chemical dependency can strike anyone at any time". I don't understand what the wedding has to do with it.

I believe all human beings are addicts to a degree, it's just a question of what the subject of addiction happens to be. You're either recoverING or you're not recovering.

How do you all feel about rehab commercials? They come on a lot during some of the shows I watch. A common theme they have is verbiage like "You can't do this on your own." I feel like that type of message can be very defeating to someone who is struggling. I know I didn't have $20,000 to go to rehab, nor could I take the time off of work for in-patient treatment.

I'm curious how others feel about this.

(I'm two months sober with AVRT and SR)
I did a commercial for the rehab I went to years ago. I believe the theory
if it helps one person, its worth it.

I didn't get son did go back for some outpatient help.ber in rehab. It planted the seed of what to do when I wanted help.

I was drunk during my first wedding and so was my ex-wife.

Not so for my second marriage.
