I've spoken frequently on here and to friends in AA about the effect of HALT (Hunger-Anger-Lonely-Tired ) on the quality of my sobriety. How those things affect my serenity and leave me feeling rattled. At the moment though it's the S that someone only recently told me to add on, to make it HALTS that is doing ny head in. I only have a bad cold, and the medication I took for it uoset my tummy a bit, which isn't exactly a big deal, but oh my goodness, my head is in a rubbish place. Really not sure how I'll cope with any kind of pressure at work tomorrow when something as silly as a minor tea spillage had my eyes filling with tears. Gawd, what an idiot. Anyway. Off to bed. Prayers, ultra-balm tissues, and a good book (no medicine out of respect for my guts).

Aw I hope you feel better. Being sick sucks big time. Everyone is sick right now and I'm just waiting for my daughter to get sick. I get sad when I'm sick cause I just want someone to take care of me, which will never happen, so I tend to throw a big pity party. I'd clean up your spilled tea if I could :)

Thanks. I did have an AA friend with me and she mopped it up. Maybe it was more that little loving gesture that tipped me over the edge into tears. Sometimes my own feelings seem completely incomprehensible to me. I suppose that's the downside to ignoring them all those years. It's like learning a new language. Xx
