The 2016 Sober Thanksgiving Pact!!

**Chime in if you commit to sobriety this holiday week. Whether you're on day 1 or have 20 years, lets hear about it!**

This is my favorite holiday of the year for me. I am off work all week, too. Got some last minute garden projects to wrap up, then work on my bike, plus got some DVD's to watch.

Drinking will only get in the way of that. This will be my first major holiday sober. If I can get through this I can survive anything!

Count me in Steve, I'm thankful for my sobriety and there's lots of other ways to celebrate the holiday. Good luck on your outdoor projects, we got our first snow today here.

We're due for our first snow fall this evening & overnight. Nothing beyond a dusting, but snow none the less.

We got a light dusting of snow this morning.

This will be my 8th consecutive sober Turkey Day. I used to really ramp up my drinking during the holidays and I was a heavy drinker the rest of the year, so you can imagine what "ramping up" was like! I'm much happier sober

I'm committed, not even a hesitation. This will be an odd Thanksgiving. My family only lives a couple miles away, but my wife and I will be having Thanksgiving by ourselves...by choice.

Well not through choice but my a-disease will not be with family. So instead of getting into a miserable dramatic frenzy of self pity- might actually an thinking to buy some decorations - for me.

I have gotten drunk every Thanksgiving since 1989.

I quit drinking for 4 months in 2013 and actually started up again right before Thanksgiving 2013.

Other than those 4 months I have basically been drunk everyday the last 27 years.

I quit drinking a month ago and I don't even crave it or miss it at all; I hit rock bottom and I am now on my way up.

So this will be my first sober Thanksgiving since 1988.

Wow, good for you! This will be my first one sober in many years. Not sure I care to know exactly how many years, though!

We have our Thanksgivings north of the 49th in October. That way we get the biggest birds first! ;^>

But I'll still join you in that pact.

I remember my first sober Thanksgiving, five years ago. I ate like I hadn't since I was a sixteen year old athlete. It's been so nice to go to Thanksgiving without feeling half sick and looking for a drink!Count me in forever!

I'm in for a sober Thanksgiving. I will be trading my wine calories for some extra stuffing. I could easily skip the entire meal and just eat stuffing and cranberry sauce.

I am also one of the lucky ones who has this week off!

Let the holiday season begin!!!
