Need support please

I need to quit as of today. I fell off the rails lately and need support. The first day as we all know is the hardest. Withdrawals are fairly bad already at 7am, going to be a long day...

Welcome back sober32. We're here for you, glad you have made the decision to quit. Don't be afraid to seek some local help too if the withdrawals get too bad, are you around someone else who knows what's going on if you need help?

My wife knows what I'm going through. She's at work though.
I'm coming off about 12 375ml beers a day, maybe less. I don't have an appitite, anxiety is high and I feel weak.
I'm on my own with no kids to look after today so I guess it's good timing to detox in that respect. Days just going SO slow..

Hello sober.
Good decision.
You can always go see your GP for withdrawal...

Hi Sober hope you are faring well.

As people like to say, "This can be your last time".

You've made a wise decision to pursue sobriety.

I'm sorry for your misery, Sober32. You're in good company, as we all know what it's like. Once you get through this you'll be free again. I'm glad you posted about what's going on - we are with you.

If you are going to lean on Sober Recovery for support, use it. Daily. Read and post. Join the daily newcomers class. You can get some measure of support and accountability here on SR, but is it enough?

You have been struggling a while to get sober. If you keep trying the same methods and getting the same results, it's time to change what you are doing. Perhaps face to face support and a structured recovery program in addition to SR will be more helpful.
