Aspects of me are outside of normal. My relationship with alcohol and the effect it has on me, my persistence in drinking even when I was aware of it's terrible outcomes.
None of these were normal. They just weren't. So for me, it's far more helpful to tell my AV when it insists that I'm normal, that I can drink in a moderated, normal way, that it's wrong.
