10 months as of today

No matter who no matter what... No matter what harsh words, people or experiences. I maintain my sobriety. I don't even take an ibuprofen anymore despite a painful female condition.

It still isn't a pink cloud and I do it anyway. Awake at 4 a.m. As I still do not sleep.

Almost at a year. Just 2 more months.

Congratulations Sleepie.
I hope you'll do something nice for yourself this weekend :)

You're rocking the casbah, sleepie! 10 months deserves the finest of gourmet coffees in the land.

Alas, I have insomnia problems of my own. Still burning the midnight oil at 5 am.

trachemys 10-21-2016 03:56 AM

Rockin' it, aren't you?

Congrats on 10 months sleepie--I'm having insomnia issues lately too,
and it does make things so much harder.

You have really stayed the course and that takes strength and determination.

Do something nice for yourself today--you deserve it!

Congrats and remember to stay
in the day, for yesterday is gone
and there is no guarantee about
tomorrow.

Just some wise words instilled in
me many one days sober ago that
I am grateful for and wish to pass
them on to you. :)

Great job! I just hit 8 and it felt big - and my sponsor reminded me every day is a milestone.

Hope the sleep situation improves soon - I know that is a big priority for me. I also know I need to cut back on the caffeine for various reasons, just one being that drinking coffee at 11pm is not a good idea!

Keep going!

that is very cool, sleepie.

sleepie 10-21-2016 11:46 AM

Kind words got me here, not harsh ones. So thanks to you who did not turn your back on me for being anxious, depressed. And for those who remained free of judgement. It means something to me, it is rare.

I would like to hear what is it like for everyone and how far are you in sobriety and what is your biggest challenge?

I am starting to feel a little less like an "alike" as in I don't feel so like a label and more like someone who just had/ has a difficult life and found a coping in alcohol.

Hardly the first to do that. I see with more clarity every day it is nobody's, nobody's place to judge me unless they have walked in my shoes. I dare say I even feel good about myself every now and then.

I've also been just plan tuning out whatever/ whoever upsets me. It works. I see it as my mental health matters more.

Proud of you, sleepie :) I've been around a long time at this point, and I've been so impressed with how you have turned things around. Keep it going! It only gets better, I promise.

You should feel good about yourself. I think you're becoming a force of nature.
