3 years yesterday
Celebrating 3 years yesterday. It's been up and down but mostly up. It is well worth it. What worked for me is to make a mental decision on drinking. Do realize that you are not giving up anything, you are saying yes to a better life and realize that drinking does nothing for you if you are an addictive personality. I'm not so sure it does anything positive for non addictive people either. Stay the course.
Wow, congrats tnman! Some very sage advice too, thanks for sharing. Don't be a stranger, your knowledge and experience would be of great benefit to the SR community, and you can gain by helping others too.

Hey, tnman 1967, I'm glad that you stuck with it, as well as telling us about it! For those who are contemplating sobriety, being presented with success stories like yours may be very helpful in "keeping your eyes on the prize". I'd guess that among the toughest days when becoming sober and then staying that way, are the few days after making the decision to be sober. Having already read many different kinds of success stories is probably helpful for many of those getting through the tough times on the way to the "other side".
Keep on going the way you have already been, having three years on "this side" of life is pretty impressive!
