Things are going ...... well!

Well , if you've read any of my posts before you are probably aware that I've been trying to quit for a while and failing miserably. So over a week ago now , after waking up with the usual headache , and general feeling of unhappiness after drinking too much decided to do something drastic and took a pair of scissors to by debit card. I can no longer draw money out of my account to go drinking. Very nearly stumbled and made up some excuse to my parents to borrow money to go out instead , but resisted , and here I am nearly 10 days drink free and feeling very good. I know I am going to have get another debit card at some point at least until the end of the month I can cope. I will deal with that bridge when I get to it.

I am thinking about drinking a lot , and have had the odd craving. I even had a dream last night that I had a drink and felt horrified until I woke up and realized it was just all in my head.

I'm feeling good at the moment guys.

Good for you! You can do it. One day at a time. Do you have a plan?

Ten days is great, but cutting up your debt card seems merely a stopgap measure. Please use your sober time to bolster your recovery with something substantial.

Congrats on 10 days Calvin. I'd tend to agree with Carl's suggestion too - we all need a more concrete plan to stay sober. And you can't live without money forever, right? Have you considered any of the "formal" recovery plans like AA/NA or AVRT/Smart/ETC?
