time

Does time fly by when your drinking? 10 years seems like yesterday.

Perhaps that's because, when we are out of it,
we are out of more than our adled minds:

We are out of the stream of life.
We are out of the real world.
We are not developing.
We are out of touch.
We are out of time.

For me, Yes.

I remember things from my last ten drinking/using years, but it in no way feels like a decade.

A blurry mess of overworking, over-intoxicating damage control.

Now I'm calm and paying attention. Time marches on but I'm present and accounted for.

Grateful.

time seems a funny fluid thing to me. . . like dreamtime--an unreal measure.

Somewhere there is an eternal present, and I intend to
be able to notice it one day. . .
