deleting phone numbers
Has anyone tried cutting family and friends out whilst trying desperataley to recover?
I've deleted all phone numbers and want no contact with anyone whilst i'm detoxing, recovering. they are not helping, just hurting me by saying im never going to stop. i don't need the pressure.
and when i do stop they ring me continuously when im going through withdrawal. ffs, give me a break.

Yes, it's common to do so, especially those who are toxic or not helpful.
Detoxing completely on your own can be dangerous though so consulting with a doctor or doing it in a supervises situation is the safest.

I did cut off people who were not a good influence on my sobriety. Doubter, what popped out at me from your post is that perhaps it's better not to do this too extremely -- throwing away all connections and becoming isolated might be just as counterproductive. I personally find it very beneficial to talk to people I trust about my struggles. It's also good when the cravings hit, getting through those completely on my own can be very hard at times. Definitely good to steer clear of drinking buddies and people who are mostly downers in early sobriety though.

If you feel friends/family members are deliberately giving you a hard time because you`re trying to stop that`s sad.
I`m not sure if deleting their contact info is necessary. Just don`t respond to any calls, texts or emails which make you uncomfortable.
Good luck.
