Never hesitate to share with us if you
are trouble with something. What's so
awesome about have support in recovery
is that non of us ever has to solve anything
or figure out anything on our own by ourselves
again.

Many of us in recovery or living a life
in recovery have either been there or
done many of the same similar things
as others have.

Even if its about golf.

No one ever has to carry those heavy
burdens, crosses on our shoulders by
ourselves again.

Quiet your racing mind and share
with us so we can give your some
helpful suggestions to guide you in
solving those troublesome situations.

The people here are so damn great. I was having a chronic pain moment. I made a post complaining about it and decided against it. Couldn't delete it but I could edit it. Thank you for caring.

Chronic pain, just like what we've been
reading about Prince, taking meds for
his chronic pain caused by jumping off
risers and wearing high heels for a long
time, and sadly look what happened to
him.

Addiction to narcotic pain meds taking
its toll on his mind, body, system. Soooo
sad, yet sooooo awaring to take notice
how dangerous many of those pain meds
are for so many.

I believe many of us deal with some
sort of pain one time or another or
it maybe constant.

Me, im having teeth work done, replacing
some porcelain capped teeth that I had
some yrs ago. One chipped due to a tongue
ring that I have removed after it happened.

Im sure dentist see this so often with
folks wearing tongue rings and them
messing up their teeth. Yes, I was aware
of the hazard of wearing one, yet, me
wanting to experience it, I am now paying
the price for my stubbornness.

My pain isn't too terrible as long as
I catch the pain before it gets worse
just by taking alieve. Taking it
just when needed which is one or
2 times daily every 8 to 12 hours
apart can ease the pain till I return
to the dentist in 2 weeks.

Pain is not fun for sure, but I refuse to
take anything narcotic or habit forming
and make sure my doctors know first
hand that if anything is to be administered
that it is not narcotic or habit forming.

As we get older our bodies change and
unless we don't take care of our bodies
then we will pay a high price to get it
fixed.

Even when we were in our addiction
we put our bodies, mind and souls to
the test never thinking of the consequences
later on in life.

Like when I had my car accident back in Feb.
1990 hitting a concrete culvert on top
the ground, sending me to the hospital
for 10 days with them removing my punctured
spleen, removing fluid in my lung and
stabilizing numerous broken ribs, contusions,
bones and such.

Drinking and drinking at 2am is not
recommended to anyone unless you
are asking for trouble. Did that stop
me from returning to the drink. NO.

Anyway, yrs later in recovery, in fact
about 5 yrs ago I had hip replacement
possibly due to that car accident yrs before.

Yes, I did heal nicely, but now I try to
be careful of the activities I do today
and be careful to prevent further accidents
that are quite costly.

Work closely and honestly with your
physician, because they are there to help
us and aid us in living a healthier, happier
life all to the best of their human ability
but WE have to stand our ground and resist
those meds that are dangerous, narcotic,
habit forming that could take our life unless
WE tell our doctors NO To drugs that are
addicting.
