Haven't been to a bar in over a month now.

And.. have no desire to. Big difference as I used to frequent them daily. Seems like a waste of time, money and self. I'm working towards a healthy lifestyle and fitness goal now so drinking isn't a big priority at this time. Who knows, maybe we just mature and out grow certain habits/things. Alcohol isn't a huge factor in my life after revolving my life around it for 6 years. I still have alcohol in my apartment but don't have the interest to touch the stuff. Who knows.

Just rambling here. As I know this is the place where others can relate.

That's great, I hope you continue this way. I would suggest you get the alcohol out of your house. No need for temptation or an easy reach.

Sounds like some good progress to me. Can I ask why you still have alcohol in your apartment?

Congrats, I applaud your efforts. Like the other posters I'd also suggest you get rid of the booze to reduce the temptation factor.

Great to have 30 days!!

Just be careful. Sometimes we rationalize that alcohol is "no big deal" so we talk ourselves into thinking we can have just one. If it is no big deal than we can skip it, right?

Going to bars was just a symptom of my addiction. Glad you're staying away from them. Congrats for that!

I second or third or whatever the question about why the need to keep poison in the house. Throw it in the trash or down the drain where it belongs. You don't drink anymore.

I used to go to a bar (or 3 or 4) every time the sun went down - whether I needed to or not.

You are correct that it is a waste of time, money and self.

I concur with the other posters that the alcohol in your home can do a lot more harm than good.

I certainly couldn't have it in my home when I first got sober.
