Day 18

I have been drinking 12 to 18 plus beers a day for over a year now. Its been a rough 18 days. Still tired and my stomach is not right. Tell me it gets better. I was falling asleep around 6:30 at night now I can stay up to 10 PM. So I can say i am less tired. The afternoon zombie feeling is getting better as well. Still have a headache most of the time though.

It gets better. Though it can take a while. Once I got past insomnia, I was very tired and didn't feel normal energy for many months, napping in my office and going to bed at 10. I think this is common, our bodies are adapting to a whole new chemical makeup and our blood pressure readings are probably normal for the first time in years. But it does get better.

Congrats on 18 days Jeffery! It takes time for our bodies and minds to recover from the damage done.....but it will get better.

Jeffery.... It will get better. I can relate b/c I was a beer drinker for 35 years. The last couple of years it was 6-8 beers each weekday(Only b/c i had to work or it would have been more) and 12+ beers Sat. and Sun. The last couple of months on the weekend I was waking up and having 4-5 beers to get rid of my hangover. I am at my one month mark and feel good and will only feel better in the future. Any aches and pains physical or mental will subside soon. One day at a time and before you know it there gone. Keep going. 18 days is something you don't want to give away. It's earned time.

Yes, it gets better the longer you're sober. It can be a bit rough at first but it will get better. Just don't drink no matter what!

Again, YES....it only gets better...we beat our bodies up so badly...we can't expect to feel great....I'm a month right now too...and I feel better than I did 2 weeks ago. I look back at those weeks (I thought I felt great)...well, there is a big difference now....Eating, fluids...viatmins...key to feeling better.

Hi, how long did you have insomnia for after getting sober? Did you have the type of insomnia where you can't get enough hours of sleep to feel rested? Thanks!
