Alcohol in other products
Sometimes I wonder if it is about what you drank. I was a beer drinker so perhaps I don't have a problem with things like medicine or sanitizer because smelling just alcohol isn't a big trigger for me. Perhaps it's different for a vodka drinker. Having said that it pays to be vigilant. Why take the chance.
I don't worry about alcohol in things like lotions, perfumes etc.
Hand sanitizer does not bother me either.
I also don't mind foods with alcohol (cooked alcohol) like chicken picatta. I know not all the alcohol burns off but I've never eaten chicken picatta and had the urge to drink so I think the amount of alcohol left is negligible.
I avoid desserts with uncooked alcohol (like Tiramisu-those lady fingers are laced with Rum)!
I do avoid mouthwash with alcohol in it because that is a trigger for me. I used to drink Listerine when I couldn't get real booze
