Body Cleanse/Detox.... how did you do it?

Day four! The night sweats are getting less and less. Slept a bit more solid last night. Gotta get used to the fact that its okay to remember going to bed!

Anyways, as this is my third time around the block with sobriety, I am curious if anyone would care to share how they detoxed or cleansed their bodies of all the nasty stuff that built up in their systems.

I personally am a firm believer in apple cider vinegar (ACV). Two TBSP in a bottle of water, twice a day. Drink plenty of pure water all day long. Fresh fruit and veggies. Lay off the sugar. Worked twice before.

Anyone else care to share?

Congratulations on Day four!

Milk Thistle is supposed to be good for the liver; I was taking it in tablets for a while but need to buy some more. Hope that helps!

Come to think of it, I did use that once before. We have a really good health food store nearby that has all that good stuff.

I tried to eat fresh salads with lots of raw veggies and an avacados half. The dressing was only vinagar and olive oil or palm oil. None of that bottled stuff. For breakfast I either had a eggs, grapefruit or a fruit smoothie. Oatmeal was another choice. I snacked on nuts and seeds. Simple broiled salmon for dinner. I am not a big eater. Probably because I thought beer was food for a long time. Now I know better!

Orion, wheatgrass is very good for inflammation, if that is a concern.
If I can't get fresh wheatgrass juice, I use Pine's brand in pill form. I did a lot of research, and Pine's seemed to be the best available.
Congratulations on 4 days!.

I've also been doing a shot of olive oil at bedtime. Keeps things movin' along, if you know what I mean!

I add it to lots of stuff, and great as a detox drink too:

I also make herbal teas--nettle is a great detox herb--mixed with
peppermint and oatstraw. Delish

Our liver does a pretty good job of detoxing our bodies as part of it's normal duty. Putting good foods in first helps and keeping bad things out to begin with.

Also please keep in mind that some supplements, even natural ones, can have adverse effects too....best to consult with a doctor if you are unsure.

I try to eat minimally processed foods. I use Stevia or a bit of honey instead of sugar. I use vinegar and olive oil instead of bottled salad dressing. I cook with unrefined coconut oil. Four foods I eat every day: blueberries, dark chocolate (85% cacao), all-natural peanut butter, and almonds. I am convinced that clean eating keeps everything in good working order. Now if I could just kick that darn diet sprite habit....

My detox was at a facility connected to the local jail, whence came our food which was mostly beans. We were allowed cigarettes but no caffeine or sugar.

My detox was forced. I was put in a 72 hour hold, given gator ade and a blanket and basically slept it off. Nothing but water and candy for the most part. Your body has to do what it has to do, theres no easy fix to detox.
