Another month down the drain, I have to say I don't really think much about drinking these days. Dangerous sometimes I know. That's why I make sure that I write these monthly updates and reminders to myself to stay the course. Not looking forward to tomorrow. I have to go see my father in law who is in very bad health. At least I can drive my wife to the visit since I'm sober. If this had happened 31 months ago I would have been plastered tonight and unable to get up in the morning. Thank God I don't have to deal with that anymore.

Nice going!
Being able to be there when someone needs you is one of the things I'm most grateful for.
I doubt my family members notice but I am so glad I can promise to give them a ride (or whatever it is- no matter how mundane) and know I'll be able to follow through.
I hope your visit tomorrow goes well.

Thanks everyone, and to put it in to realistic terms. My alcoholism cost me dearly. Here are the highlights: Robbed twice while drunk, lost quite a bit of money. Two DUI's. One PI. Gout, more than likely due to over consumption of beer, and the worst, almost lost my wife when she had enough. This should be a reminder to anyone who thinks that keep on boozing is any kind of way to live.
