A therapist may be able to help. Maybe get a referral to an outpatient treatment clinic. I think a lot of insurance covers some ammount of visits. I currently am still seeing therapist, as well as attending AA. It has been a very posative and helpful experience for me.

I guess a one on one counseling thing is what may be best for me as I have other issues other than drinking.Theres been no arguing in the house lately, the wife and I are trying to prevent those episodes, really hard sometimes though.Im sober today.I feel good, not great, but Im sober today.

((Homer)))

Sick and Tired of being sick and tired. Thats what I was. Each day, one day at a time I'm getting better. It's not easy, AA helps me carry the load. Counseling is great, but for me the only way to stop drinking is to have fellowship with another drunk and pray. ps...it's also real important to have some laughs along the way.

I'm glad you're sober today. So today is a grat day.

Yep, I have other issues too. Anxiety, Depression, social phobia. Many of us have deep rooted issues that caused us to drink. Counseling can help. The important thing is to be honest. You have to be in order for recovery to work. So don't let any pride get in the way. Make the call. It could help you feel better.
