FOMO and immaturity
FOMO and immaturity
Really good link, thanks.
This bit: "...[alcoholics regard] friends as something like collectible baseball cards. Active alcoholics can’t really love our friends. We can only seek relief via people – and “love” that relief."
...hit close to home. I'm like that when I'm at my worst.
Anyway a good read. I dont' get FOMO about parties, but I do get it a lot about other things and I know it's not a good trait.

I don't have this " Fear of missing out "
In fact I'm fine with missing out as I become more confident and have more time sober. Even then I am not going to place myself in bad situations involving alcohol.
Being social in healthy settings can wait as well, no rush. IMO
I don't include meetings and group therapy, I am active there.
