Mom Died One Year Ago Today

I was a wreck in the buildup and aftermath. Lots of mean things were said by my oldest sister, but I have forgiven her. I have been sober 6 months and AA is really helping. Still want to drink sometimes but I can control the beast now.

I am so sorry about the loss of your mother, MagillaGorilla; it's a very painful process watching the end unfold.

Great job on six months of sobriety. Have you found that sobriety facilitates the grief process? I did.

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my mom over a year ago so I understand how you're feeling.

Congrats on six months sober!

I'm glad you're recovering. That must be trying.

I know there's nothing I/we can say to take the pain of your loss away, but we are all here for you as friends and supporting you in any way we can!
Maintaining control over the urge to drink during such times is incredibly admirable and I think you're incredibly strong!

I am so sorry for your loss.

My mom also died just over a year ago.

I am glad you have forgiven your sister -- these types of things can bring out the worst or the best in people.

Great job on 6 months -- I bet your mom is chuffed.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's good that you're posting about it.

My mom died a few years ago, and I used her death as motivation to get sober.

Well done on six months!

Sorry to hear of your loss. It's hard to lose our moms. Give it time and hold on to the memories.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm right there with you - the first anniversary of my father's death is a week away. The pain never goes away, but drinking will not help us. Stay strong.
