Funny forgot I was sober :p

Tonight about 7p I was hanging out with my teenage boys and wanted some coffee but I was out of coffee so I said hey let's go to the coffee shop and sit outside. Next thought was nah shouldn't drink and drive :/ 30 seconds later remembered that I haven't drank anything. Lol its just day 8 and I am so used to at least a bottle of wine inside me by 7 on a Saturday night that I forgot I was sober for a sec lol feels good

Haha - I remember doing that for a while into being sober. Even when looking ahead and planning my day, like 'oh I'll have to do X in the morning before I'm too drunk to do it safely / properly' - and then feeling so free the next moment when I realised how I'd been living for so long.

Loving the image of you 'hanging' with your teenagers - bet they're loving this new sober mum

I know exactly how you feel. When I have a relapse, my whole day/week/hour is spent on scheduling things so I can get them done before I start drinking, and since I go to work at 7:45 at night, scheduling when I have to stop drinking so I can be reasonably sober when I get up to get ready for work. I have so much time and flexibility when I'm not drinking, not to mention the money I save. Back on the wagon for me and already enjoying the fact that I don't have to plan my whole day around drinking.

I was in the grocery store a couple of days ago and it was really busy, there were lots of people buying alcohol and food.

Then I remembered, oh yeah, it's New Year's Eve. I forgot I used to drink like a pig on New Year's Eve.

I have those thoughts when I wake up I the morning- like how will I get through today? And then realize today will be fine because I'm sober!
