I'm at it again.. Drinking
Since you got your money for rent, pay up as much as you can right now
while you have it.
Go grocery shop and buy some basic staples to get you through the
next few weeks until the job comes.
I expect you also need to do a couple of loads of laundry to have clean clothes
for work, and for life in general.
(you can only turn over your underwear so many times, am I right? )
That will also remove some temptation to spend the money where
you shouldn't.
The rest goes to your housemate to hold safe for you.
By the way, you should also buy her a nice bar of scented soap
and maybe clean the bathroom and oven as she seems to be a brick
and looks out for you, holding your money and all.
I can sure spend other people's money fast, can't I?
Keep posting paddy.
Sounds like you're climbing up again. . .
while you have it.

Handing over your card to your friend. That's a damn strong thing to do Paddy I salute you! I know that you may be anxious about getting to that meeting but there will be plenty of people who have suffered more deeply than you and have now recovered. They want to support you. That's why they are there.
Today I am going to a another with a guy who is 5 years younger than me and has lost his legs through wet brain.
I remember many years ago he came into the rehab Center I was working in and all I saw was this big smile.
We tried everything to get his legs working, walking frame, exercise, gym, gp, Neurologist but got wort and worst, he now has a little scooter aid and is so so independent ,
I brought him through the the 12 steps back then which were also freely given to 5 years into my sobriety
He has a little over 3 years sobriety under his bet now when he was good and sick and his isms were alive and kicking.

I remember my counsellor saying to me when we went into a shop for to buy a new phone(nothing wrong with my old one) Paddy "wants and needs,"
I looked in dismay.
He said think about it and then come back to the shop.
I never did by that phone nor many other items because it was want, want, want,
It was all for that 5 minute buzz of needing it and with that came consequences.
