I've realized that I don't like socializing as much as I thought I did when I was drinking. I don't need to talk to everybody at every event. Hell, I don't even have to go. I am more selective about who I am around now and what I attend.

What's funny though, now that I think of it, how great were my social skills when I was drunk? Probably a lot worse than I imagined them at the time.

That's exactly what I've noticed too. I don't even like going out really anymore. I also don't get invited to go out like I used to, because I think people are uncomfortable that I don't drink anymore, but I don't care. My husband isn't big on going out either. It's so odd. I used to live to socialize.

Yeah I cringe when I think about that.... Recently, I was out to dinner and there was a woman by the bathroom line who was a little drunk and the way she was acting, talking, and walking made me stop and think: "God was I like that?" I had thought drinking made my social skills *better*. Yikes. I think I was everyone's entertainment, instead....
