Hi

First place I thought of going today was here after I talked to my doctor today.

Need to have surgery in January, but speaking to the anesthesiologist today she said she wasn't sure she could clear me for surgery considering my drinking (current) history. She listed the problems I have- 99% of them related to relentless drinking, and said she would talk to the surgeons to make a decision after reviewing my labs and EKG.
I let it get really real now. I don't want to be given up on. I will learn to honor myself.

This sounds like a great place to start your sobriety. No better way to honor ourselves than by giving ourselves a sober life. I know I'm glad I've chosen it, and if you choose it too, you won't regret. It's hard in the beginning, but definitely worth it!

I hope everything with your surgery turns out okay, Muunray. Keep us updated.

Hello muunray. Yeah, that's a wake up call! It could be the best thing that ever happened to you. Only time will tell but now is the time to really start taking care of yourself.

It's good to see you Muunray!

Keep on remembering you can do this! Do you have any other plans in dealing with the drinking? You had talked about going to an inpatient rehab awhile back.

I'm sorry to hear about the complications with having surgery, muunray.

Maybe this can be your turning point.

Perhaps a discussion with your Doctors is in order?

I think coming here was a good start Muunray, lots of good advice already.

Do you think you'll stop drinking now? If that's your plan we are here to help.

That's good motivation. If this was your first stop out of the Dr., it sounds like you're ready to jump into sobriety.

Nice to see you, Muunray.

I'm sorry about your predicament. I hope that you and doctors can reach a good solution.
