4 years!
 

Well, today marks 4 years of continuous sobriety from alcohol for me.

I am amazed at how quickly time is going by. My sober life is extremely full and I'm so grateful for that.

I've been trying to put my finger on what has kept me sober, and I think it boils down to two simple things:

- One day at a time
- First things first

These I've certainly been struggling with lately, but I think these have really been what I've "done" to get me here. My career is going great, but it's very stressful and has been overwhelming my time. It's been very difficult to keep it in the day and to put my sobriety first.

In any case, I'm looking forward to continuing my journey and making improvements in my life wherever I can. As long as I don't pick up that first drink, anything is possible. If I drink, it's all off the table.

I know for sure that if I had continued drinking the way I was I would not be here today.

Well done! 4 years is truly remarkable - good for you and for others to witness.

At times when I feel a malaise of sorts "it may be necessary to redouble our (my) spiritual activities". This seems to always put me back on track!
