The Island of Misfit Drunks
maybe we're the misfits exactly because we're cheery???
bought a slow cooker (foolishly got rid of my first one in the eighties!) and made soup. yum. healthy.
went for a bike ride in sunny cold weather. to a coffee-shop-bakery, where i had a cottage cheese cheddar muffin.
finished knitting a scarf for a gift. eyelet pattern.
hm ja; pretty good days

I just returned home earlier this week after a month spent overseas, and am so happy to be back to my "normal life", even the daily chores that are not really characteristic of me to enjoy. It was a very meaningful and productive trip though and I feel satisfied. Trying to immerse myself into work now as I have only been doing the minimum in that area during my trip and actually missed deadlines. I typically enjoy my work very much when I'm in it, but sometimes it's hard to start and I tend to distract myself with all sorts of unnecessary things.
Another Tai Chi and yoga fan here. I like forms of exercise that combine physical exertion, graceful movements, mental concentration and body-mind coordination, plus have a non-competitive nature... am also a fan of meditation so Tai Chi and yoga are perfect for me. I agree that doing these seriously is much harder than it seems and the challenge is inspiring. I have also been playing around with the idea of getting into some form of martial arts for years now, but always reject it thinking it's probably too structured for my taste, or that I don't like hierarchy. Probably in some ways I'm just avoiding having to be more disciplined
So today I'll spend mostly with work and will go to a yoga class later. Also need to catch up with my studies, actually there are a few new things I'm studying but have not been consistent with the work in the past month at all because I was so immersed in my experiences.

Badger, I think you missed the premise of the thread. It's supposed to be what you did good for yourself, lol. Glad you got your appetite back though.
Last night (Friday) was 42 degrees Celsius here (107 Fahrenheit) and rather than go the bar to drink a cold beer I went to the beach.
I swam, read my book, watched people play and the sun set.........till the cool, south wind change came and blew me off beach back home :-)

^^^^ jd's response to badger is hilarious :-D
I can't know the difference between good and bad either, I guess, because when I read about the 'two big macs with "side" of a quarter pounder with cheese' I thoughts "yeah, good for you, badger!" But hey, jd, he did order diet coke :-)

Hope all are well
I'm headed out for a nice Japanese lunch and a bit o' shopping to keep husband's
arse covered.
He'd wear his pants to ragged tatters if I didn't upgrade them yearly. . .

I actually quit my gym membership this week.......
Because I've been having a much better time working out at home!!. I also attended a day at a non residential Buddhist retreat, walking and sitting meditation for 5 hours oh my I'm in love. Meditating in a group has always been more powerful then meditating alone for me.
