It's been one of those things on my mind lately, Wolfie, whether to see one regularly or only as needed. I filled out applications for my husband and myself to see a new GP. We have to "apply" and then be approved. I guess they are very busy. Lol. Feels like I'm applying for a job I'm sure it's a super busy office.
I'm probably going to ask for an overall check-up and mention that I'd like to know about anything out of the ordinary with my blood sugar, liver, kidneys, pancreas.
My grandmother died of cancer, so that is one thing I often wonder - if I'm going to develop cancer at some point. It's useless to worry, but I can't help but be slightly concerned.

I go to my Dr once a year for a physical and bloodwork. The dermatologist once a year because I tan a lot. Lot's of cancer in my family so even when drinking I kept up with the preventative stuff.
Yup. Physical once a year with lab work, skin check once a year since I'm living in the tropics. Also the occasional visit to an orthopedic doc when I hurt myself, lol. Sixty years old and no meds yet.
When I was 40, in a high stress management position, and drinking, it seemed like I was at the doctor every other month for one life-threatening illness or another..

Well....now that I've quit drinking I have more motivation to take care of myself. I have MS so I see my Dr regularly for that and more often if I'm having a flare up.
Since I quit drinking last December I've seen my obgyn, my dentist, and started seeing a chiropractor and acupuncturist regularly.
When I was heavily in my addictions I never went to the Dr. And Honestly, I didn't care whether I lived or died so didn't see the point. Plus, an appointment would cut into my drinking time.

I have no physical symptoms other than occasional depression, but I've always had that. We need to have a doctor ready in case something happens though, so I'm going to email these apps back to their office. I've just been holding onto them. Not sure why. I think I just really loathe having to go into that medical environment. The last time I saw a doctor my mother was coming off life support in ICU. Just terrible memories.
