ok, this is gross: on several occasions after drinking I would chop up an entire packet of bacon, fry it up, scramble up a dozen eggs in another pan, add the bacon, add cheese, grab some flour tortillas and proceed to cram as many "breakfast burritos" down my filthy hole until it was all gone
I never ate anything while drinking. Yeah..make soup in a crockpot Holds! I just made some and ate all of it! I used a leftover ham bone...lotsa the dried beef or chicken boullion, I like to use. Throw in spices u like, and vegies, vegies, vegies! I love soup and it seems to give me energy, cuz its nutritious. add diced potatoes and diced meat too. Dont forget the Worchestire Sauce, YUM! I hate tryin to spell Worschestire..lol

It took a good 2 months before I was able to enjoy a breakfast burrito again.
Still have yet to try the crockpot meals,
Last night I had spaghetti, with noodles made out of zucchini and carrots. With tomato sauce, no meat though this time. Was pretty good actually.
I did okay too I ate an okay breakfast, lots of fruit and some eggs and some bread on the side. I gave in and ate an apple danish though, was looking too good oh and later on I ate an apple turnover. I love those type of pastries, couldn't help it.
Tonight I'm not sure, can't cook the crockpot thing that would take too long for tonight anyway. I would usually just give in and get takeout but now I'm thinking that I can't do that, got lots of hungry kids to feed tonight though.

Fast soups:
Chicken gumbo:
1 large can chicken
1 32 oz box chicken stock.
1 bag frozen gumbo vegetables(includes okra)
Any kind of rice you want from microwave to slow cooked.
Throw the first three in a pot, add garlic, pepper, any herb or spice you like, bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer for 15 minutes. Cook your rice separately. Rice in a bowl, gumbo over rice. Four servings, easy.
Vegetable beef soup
1 pound stew beef
1 bag frozen vegetables for soup(not stew, soup)
1 32 oz box beef broth
a disposable aluminum grilling pan.
Turn on the oven broiler. Spread the stew beef out on the grilling pan. Dump the broth and veggies in a pot and start to a boil. Put the beef under the broiler. Don't go anywhere as the beef will brown in ten minutes or less. When brown dump the beef in the pot. Add your favorite spices and seasonings. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer 15 minutes. I usually make some little pasta to throw in this five minutes before serving. Again, four servings, no problem.

Yep, stock, broth, same same. It's in boxes and cans.
That gumbo recipe was taught my by my last wife's cajun grandmother. The secret is the spices you add to it to make it your own. I use Tony Chachere's to get the mix right. Her's was her own mix of garlic, herbs and enough hot stuff to make your eyeballs sweat. That was a cajun woman. She shot armadillos at midnight with a flashlight duct taped to a shotgun.
Everyone's a terrible cook until they burn a few meals. The important thing is keep trying.
