Has anyone here been on statins (and survived without further liver damage) while drinking? If so, would appreciate the info (or harmful effects experienced) b'cause I am really worried about someone I know who is drinking and taking statins. I think she's going to have liver failure. By the way, amazingly, her liver tests have all been normal, so far.

Sounds like a really bad combination to me. Does her doctor know? I would try to get her to tell the doctor. The cholesterol may be less of a risk than the liver problems from the medication and alcohol. Only the doctor would know.

I have been on statins and drinking heavily for 5+ years. It took a while, but my liver tests have shown some elevated levels. Another reason that I am here...I knew that I had to change my lifestyle or there would be no lifestyle to change. Good luck to your friend.
