I think my take on scrooge is sort of cool, lonely orphan, doesn't learn how to accept love, the only thing he has is his counting house, the irritating Fred, the haunting, a sort of overwriting of the man's own relevant story. But you know best!

Maybe you feel blessed and grateful because you were that way before the booze? But what if you weren't really blessed to begin with, just led sort of a quiet, desperate, invisible life?
I was unhappy for a long time before I touched my first beer.
I worked out eventually my recovery journey would need two parts...one was not drinking and the other was feeling serene and content.
I used the term happiness but as several people here have schooled me, happiness is not necessarily something everyone aspires to.
I think serenity is tho?
anyway so...I had a lot of 'issues' to rake through...some I solved on my own and some I had professional help...but it was dealing with that stuff that's kept me sober till now and will keep me sober for the rest of my days..
Blessed or not, surely you can aspire to some different way of thinking or feeling Davai?
