One year sober
Another thing I think I've learnt is that if your circumstances begin to get stressful then do something about them no matter what it takes, rather than internalize them too much. Obviously that can be hard but beats being ruined yourself.
Nice to hear from Venecia and also advbike, amazing people... Yes I was here a couple of years ago during a very testing period indeed.

Hi advbike, indeed our surroundings can affect us in subtle ways we're scarcely aware of. I currently have a job similar to the one that caused me such grief a year or so back, though with a different ambiance which I do think is going to be fine.
But should it become too difficult I'll just get up and leave. Sometimes that's not something you want to do but the point may come when you have to see the wider picture and make a decision. The bastards!
I send you a PM.

Hello there, it was near the base of the main hike up to Mount Snowdon, highest mountain in Wales.
It's only about 1000 metres but still has to be taken seriously and I didn't attempt it- I'm happy just to admire and look on!
