I'm at a hotel where I spent many, many nights in the dark paneled bar, drinking martinis till I was properly blind and rightfully stoned.

It's nostalgic because I taught my young daughter how to play poker there after we would go to Build a Bear. It's one of those hotel bars where you could just drink the hours away and make all sorts of plans about the future, none of which would come to fruition let alone be remembered the next morning.

I had to walk past it to get to the bathroom. I stopped and seriously had a major case of the "F its".

I'm outing myself to remain accountable.

Stick with us. I bet there are a lot of other places you could go to enjoy yourself besides that bar.

Good on you. I'll join you in the accountability. I'm on day one. I just came to terms with my alcoholism recently. I don't want a drink currently due to the insane amount of pain this hangover has created in my whole body, and Im not yet at the point where I drink morning drinks. But I know that once I gain even one iota of health back I will rationalize why that one drink isnt such a bad thing, why one more is okay, why dashing it all to hell is okay. I need help just not taking that one. Very badly.

I'm thinking of the movie 'Barfly' - it might be a great role to play as an actor, but you deserve a better role in real life AO :)
