This is a thought provoking article.

The media probably gets a very large part of their income from alcohol products, besides they are renowned for their overindulging and it might not settle well.

I personally know that alcohol is not something I can consume, so I don't really give much credence to what the media or "society" thinks about it. The media can absolutely influence but at the end of the day it's our responsibility to choose to drink or not.
