Scariest Alcohol Withdrawl sysmptom
I just had the scariest withdrawl sympton I have ever had. I got up to go brush my teeth and don't know what happened but started rocking back and forth while sweating and shaking. I fell to the floor. I was conscience this entire time but even spit out the toothpaste on floor. I haven't moved from the bed since then as I almost feel a form of dizziness. I was shaking on the floor a little. This was only a 30 second thing but this has never happened before. I started looking up seizures to see if that was what it was. I don't think it was. I live alone so don't know if it was just a spell of dizziness. I thought of calling 911
Kllme, I suggest you call 911.
I don't know whether you had a seizure or not. Alcohol withdrawal can be life threatening. I'm not trying to scare you, I just want you to be safe.
Living alone with no one to help you can be very scary. Is there anyone you can call?

Kllme, everyone is different. Comparing symptoms is an useless waste of precious time.
IF you are having small strokes, the results can be permanent.
I strongly urge you to call for an ambulance or call someone to take you to the ER.

Almost exact thing happened to me the day after my last drink. Wish I had gone to the hospital. Scared me straight into sobriety. If you stay sober you will never have to feel like this again. Hope you are alright.
I had the same symptoms while walking down the aisle at Safeway once. I started getting dizzy, tunnel vision, and I dropped to the floor and stayed there, totally unable to get up - shaking, sweating, and freaking out. It didn't go away though, it stayed with me and I was unable to do more than sit on the floor and fight to stay conscious. The staff called an ambulance and I spent the next 8 hours in the ICU, diagnosed as alcohol withdrawal and serious dehydration (caused of course by drinking alcohol and nothing but alcohol, very heavily the previous night). Call 911, now might be a good time to get a medical doctor diagnosis.

That happened to me, except I did end up having a full-blown seizure. Bit my tongue terribly. I went straight to the ER (my friend drove, because I refused the ambulance he called). I didn't know the date or who the president was. They detoxed me for several days. Please get medical help.

I'll never know exactly what it is. I know even a Dr. couldn't tell me exactly. Seems like a strange side effect. I have never had any kind of seizure. I walk about 25 feet and I don't walk any further because I can feel myself getting ready to fall. And then it sorta feels like the room is spinning but only for a few seconds.
Even scarier, this same thing happened to my Dad and he died a month later.
For those that this happened to, how long did it last for? Usually my withdrawl problems are over in 36 hours. I threw up 6 times this morning.
I have never heard of fainting being a withdrawl. Guess good thing is I can't drink today. I could never walk from my car inside, get it, and wait in line.

That is exactly how I felt right before my seizure. I was dizzy and the world felt heavy on my head, was so hot and sweaty and like I couldn't see straight. Next thing I know my friend was wiping the blood off my face and telling me I had a seizure. I don't know how long that would have lasted had I not gotten medical treatment. I could have died. It's very dangerous.
