Near 3 weeks

After Saturday it will be 3 weeks. It takes forever.
Little energy, maybe it's the heat.
Feel hungry often. Dissatisfied. Worried. The usual.

Look bad, feel bad.

Either don't sleep or feel as if I can sleep for days.

None of this is new to people here.

Three more weeks I can beat my record since '09.

how on earth do we drink for so long?

Congrats on 3 weeks sleepie. While not comforable, most of the stuff you are going through is totally normal and will pass eventually. Keep it up, looking forward to you breaking your record too.

thats awesome sleepy. yeah our bodies are all over hte place for a while till we settle down some in sobriety. this process can take some time so try and be patient.

yeah i think back to my day in day out drinking days and i'm liek geeze oh flip how did i maintain that? i mean 15 20 beers a night waken up with hangovers day in and day out it was just normal to feel like trash. since when does feeling like trash feel normal? but it sure felt just fine back then.

it will get better good job!

Almost three weeks, not there yet. But I guess after being prescribed Natrexone and declining it at the pharmacy (it's 126 bucks out of pocket here) I decided I'd like to tell the shrink this time I haven't had a drop for a month.
After I get more than 5 weeks maybe at least mentally I'll feel better for it.
There's a stretch here where I live, bars up and down the street and everyone has craft beers in beautiful packaging.
I have conflicting feelings of desire and repulsion with a touch of fear.

You are doing so well! I'm glad you can pass those neighborhood bars. For me, there are "triggers" everywhere. For example, I never noticed how much drinking takes place on TV shows! Have a good weekend

Sleepie you're doing great getting through this. Don't listen to the AV and just continue to focus on breaking your record and then some.

Thank you and it's nice to see both new and familiar faces on my thread, I appreciate your support.
I am having a total OCD fit of worry and anxiety tonight, so much that I am having chest pains. This happens when I stress out and I am very stressed out today.

Hi sleepie, well done on 3 weeks.

I was reading about anxiety and found something called grounding. See what you think. Hope it helps a little.

Look around you
Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste.
This is called grounding and can help when you feel you have lost all control of your sense of being.

Good suggestion, Mags1!

This is a simple but very effective exercise, sleepie! One of my former counselors had me do this in our sessions when I became unproductively hysterical and it really helped to bring me back down.

Happy 3 weeks
